Jan King And Medicine Ball / Point of Departure

How nice is to listen to Fresh Music From Jan and 'The Balls", This new brilliant latest work took some time in the making and it was worth the wait.

With a very Nice Artwork Point of Departure Kicks off with an Introductory Instrumental ; Before Being Born which opens  the Door to the First Song Track Number 2, Blackmail.

A mid tempo song featuring Jan's powerful vocals with a backdrop of sound and style that approaches Jeff Buckley's type of songwriting.

I See the Rain the Third track of the album continues the Pace of the the First Song, with a Hendrix touch, I love the Choruses and the Guitar sound and soloing towards the end of the Song.

Broken Bridge, continues as if it was a linked to the previous Song as a conceptual piece and its a great mixture of Guitar and Voice.

The Surprise continues with Point of Departure, and Instrumental, it showcases each individual and their Instruments following Jan's Guitar soloing.

The Bluesy Bad Medicine, features Keith back on Saxophone and Voice, another Bad Ass sounding song and great lyrics, Jan and Keith sharing roles and then singing at unison works perfectly, great track!

No Weather, another Bluesy sounding song, it also showcases Jan's great clean sounding guitar soloing and great Vocals. There's the trading licks between Bass and Guitar in the Mid Section of the song, brilliant combination of talents and they sound so tight!

The Acoustic moment comes with Down to Pray, with a country feel the Steel strings and percussion moves in like a meditation or trance Music.

Take What You Get, goes back to that bluesy mood and the follower, "Dragons" shows us a softer and quieter powerful Hawaiian type of Ballad, with a real nice sounding guitars, awesome lyrics and Vocals by Jan, great clean guitar tone.

Another mid tempo song; King of Skate, brings back the electrifying soloing from Jan and her powerful vocal lines and lyrics, including a nice change of key after the middle soloing.

The interesting mood of Dance in the Rain, creates a mysterious rhythm section, sort like a marching tempo, my favorite song of Point of Departure, it defines "The Balls" in style.

Waking up The Dead, is the long piece on this album, a darker sound, it creates the right ambient towards the end of the record, makes it sound like a conceptual piece, again the soloing brings the song to a great end, with a multi voice choir.

After Dying, appears to be a continuation of the beginning of the album, an Instrumental that leads to the final song into the "Coda" of this amazing sonic Journey with; Forsaken, a great and melancholic yet uplifting piece.
